GFLI Branded data

GFLI branded data enables companies to develop product-specific life cycle assessment (LCA) datasets in accordance with the GFLI Methodology. These datasets reflect the environmental performance of feed products based on primary, company-specific data. By applying a harmonised and scientifically robust framework, branded data ensures consistency, transparency and comparability across the feed and food value chain.

What is GFLI Branded Data?
GFLI branded data consists of company-specific LCA datasets developed following the requirements set out in the GFLI Methodology (version 3.0).
In contrast to generic datasets, branded data reflects:

  • Specific data for production processes instead of relying on statistical averages
  • Detailed information about the supply chain of a feed ingredient
  • Insight in operational efficiency of the processing site

All datasets are developed, documented and reviewed in accordance with strict methodological and data quality criteria.

Why develop branded data?
The development of branded data supports organisations in moving beyond generic assumptions towards accurate, product-level environmental insights. The key benefits are:

  • Improved accuracy of environmental footprint calculations
  • Enhanced transparency and credibility towards stakeholders
  • Better-informed internal decision-making
  • Alignment with international LCA standards and reporting frameworks
  • Contribution to harmonized environmental footprint calculations within the feed and food sector

Getting started
All branded data must comply with the GFLI Methodology V3.0, which details the methodological framework of modelling LCA for each type of feed ingredient in scope, the criteria to comply with branded data standards, and the procedures how to do a data project (both sectoral and branded projects).

You can find frequently asked questions in the webpages underneath the Branded Data header, as well as the costs and application form to apply on the page apply now to get started!

**Please note that all data projects go through a GFLI review, as well as an external review. The costs for these are for the data provider.
