The GFLI structure relies on the ‘Board of Directors’ and the ‘Technical Management Committee’ (TMC).
These bodies focus on the direction/governance of the Institute and technical discussions to support GFLI’s technical management, respectively. These are positions elected through nominations from and by the members.
The GFLI by-laws allow for the possibility to extend GFLI’s structure to support decision making about relevant topics through (external) expertise and input. These working groups are set through the prioritization of a subject among multiple stakeholders and given a green light for starting by the GFLI TMC. These stakeholders may be GFLI members, external experts and/or researchers.
In the past, working groups have been created to address a topic regarding peat oxidation emissions, as well as the creation of a methodology for grass-based ingredients (roughages, forages).
